Kaye Griggs, DPT

Carra has worked with adults and families in several therapeutic settings for 16 years. She has considerable experience in subtance abuse recovery, domestic violence cessation, anger management resolution, as well as anxiety, depression, and as a Whole Person Fertility Counselor. Through individual, family, and group therapy, Carra has worked in both community based settings as well as her own private practice.  She completed her training and certification with EAGALA in 2013. Carra notes that traditional counseling has been referred to as "the talking cure", however she has come to discover that God is the one who is best at doing the talking...and ultimately healing; both in the office and the arena. For her, this is the heart of truly helping people.  Carra is married to Bruce Eddy, and has one adult child.  She is also a dedicated home educator to their younger child.

Carra Eddy, LPC

Carra is a Licensed Professional Counselor, ​and practices Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning in addition to Individual and Family Counseling with Horses for Life!  She received her Masters of Arts in Counseling through Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri in 1998, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida, in 2001.

​​Kathy has 40+ years of collective experience as an accomplished horsewoman, horse show exhibitor and coach, ranch manager, trainer, and horsemanship instructor. She is the founder of Horses for Life! which has been in operation since 2004. Kathy effectively combines her love and passion for God, people, and horses to offer help, hope, and healing in a fun and supportive environment. She has provided therapeutic horsesmanship and therapeutic riding services since 2005, working with children and adults having a wide range of challenges. In 2007, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning were added. Hippotherapy was introduced in 2014. As a teacher and student of Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Kathy integrates its prinicples and techniques into each service offered at her facility. Kathy and husband Billy, have six adult children, serve in Christian ministry, and reside in Angleton, Texas.

​​​Kathy is the owner and Executive Director of Horses for Life!  and is the horse professional for all therapeutic and learning services.  She obtained her certification in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning  from EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) in 2009.


The professionals at Horses for Life! believe in the power of God working collectively through horses and one another to positively and significantly help people.  Education, experience, innovation, and inspiration are the vital components they endeavor to expertly weave into each equine assisted service and client relationship.
